As some of you have heard - we are losing Monkey Bars. A beloved, neighborhood store and community resource!
We have all heard from Heather, that the landlords have asked her to vacate the space on Park St to make way for a new venture, effectively removing any chance she had of selling her business (which she had been in negotiation to do since July 2015) or continuing the mission that began in 2008.
Heather needs funds to take care of MB’s current liabilities, secure a new concept/vision for Monkey Bars 2.0, and the associated costs of moving and getting new inventory.
These dollars will also help bridge some personal expenses between the Park Street location closing and the new venture getting up and running. As most of you know, Heather is a single Mom raising two boys with little to no financial help. Monkey Bars is her primary source of income.
In a re-imagined capacity, Heather can expand on the original vision of Monkey Bars and create a place that is not only a thriving retail "space", but also a true meeting place for a more robust community and new parent support groups. A new better Monkey Bars!
