#SaveKDA COVID Relief Fund

Katura Dance Academy opened in 2011. We offer Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Tumbling, Pom, and AfroFusion  dance classes. Quality classes at affordable rates.  We also Coach acting, modeling and voice!  We are celebrating our 10th Dance Season this year. 

We are not just a dance school, we are a family. The kids create life long friendships with their dance mates  and make strong bonds with our teachers.  We provide our artists with a clean and nurturing environment where they are free to express themselves and develop their own unique creativity. COVID took that away formonths and our kids were left with a void. We reopened with the safety precautions in September with less than half of our usual enrollment. Understandably so. We just didn’t have enough to pay our teachers and pay our monthly expenses. So we shut down in November and December to regroup.  Now we are reopening in January and asking for your help.

Because of COVID, we had to shut down our facility 2 months early last seasonand we weren’t able to have our recital.  Our Recital usually helps with our summer expenses.  We did receive the PPP loan and that helped with paying the teachers for those two months and minor bills. But with refunding parents (some companies weren’t able to refund us yet), rent, utilities, and more- for all of the months we have been out- we need help. We also have many community events like out Father/Daughter Dance and our Mother/Daughter tea that help with expenses but obviously, massive in-person events are not a safe possibility with COVID.  So many businesses have shut down because of the pandemic.  We miss our kids and the joy we all experience when we are together.  With your help, we will be able to keep our teachers on staff, purchase equipment to keep our facility clean and safe, and keep dancing.  We have faith that with your help, we will get what we need and won’t have to shut our doors permanently.
