I am trying to raise money on behalf of myself and and my son.
In 2011, my son was diagnosed with a pulmary embolism. He has very lucky in the fact that he still with us as this is not always the case. Since his diagnoses he has had to be hospitalized twice and the last time we came very close to losing. Jeremy has been dependant on oxygen since his diagnoses, which makes it somewhat difficult to do his job.
Jeremy is a chef and a very good one. He has dreams of one day having his own resturant and I truly believe that he is still here with us because God is not done with him yet.
When Jeremy was orignally diagnosed we were told that there was no way to remove the old clots that remain in the lower lobes of his lungs, but while in the hospital his doctor was at a conference and discovered that there is someone that is doing a surgery that CAN remove those clots. However, the surgery is in San Diego. We have been waiting for months to finally been able to get the surgery and we finally have a date which will be the end of September, now we just help with getting there. We are looking to stay in a place affiliated with the hospital that will be cheaper than a hotel, but still an expense along with our meals, transportation and what other incidentals may arise.
I must admit that I was very uncomfortable for asking for help in this manner, but this surgery is important and life changing for him and will allow him to be back in the kitchen doing what he loves.
