2nd Surgery for puppy hit by car

UPDATE to our original story.....our sweet little puppy that we helped ( named Blanco) ....he had surgery to repair his broken femur and leg....he was doing well, but at his last vet appt where X-rays were taken, it was discovered the ‘pins’ holding the ‘bone repair’ in Place had broken and the leg has not healed.  SO, on this Thanksgiving weekend I received the call from his marvelous caregiver that we found to rehab him, that the ONLY option is a surgery to fix this and save the leg, OR amputation.  I cannot entertain amputation, so I authorized surgery on Tuesday by a Board certified orthopedic surgeon at Sage Veterinary in Campbell. His name is Dr Bill.....he seems to be confidant that he can repair this and this little guy will walk normally and be happy on 4 legs for a long long time.   I have used almost all the money we have raised thus far for the initial surgery and the follow ups....so I am praying there are a few people out there that can help just a little more this time.......I have not informed his family about this setback, as it is the holidays, and there is no need to until I have too.....
Every little bit helps...
thank you so much for helping and for caring ...in the season of caring... I suppose this is where it counts.  May god bless you all, and bless all of us who will never know how it feels to be in a situation where you have to chose between food and vet bills.  We are all so fortunate we have no idea what it is like to be in thes situation....we can just help !!

Original post... little puppy was hit by a car last night and broke his leg, the driver sped away.  The owner was NOT negligent in letting him out, he accidentally ran out when their toddler opened the front door.  The owners are good people that both work.  They have a toddler and this sweet puppy they adopted from Pennisula humane society.  They have staggering rents here and it is difficult to makes end meet.  He put out a desperate pleas last night to our ‘next door’ site to see if anyone knew of a vet that could help.  He ended up taking him to a 24 hour vet but could only afford the medication to keep his pain level bearable.  We reached out to him to see what he was doing today, and he couldn’t afford the X-rays to diagnose the break, so Dean and I paid for a vet visit this evening for X-rays to diagnose the break.   Unfortunately it is a femur break which is not good and Sage veterinary was looking at $6000 to take care of this.  After paying the $700 bill, we set out looking for a more reasonable option for them.  We were successful in locating a great vet through a rescue organization that will do the surgery for around $2000, so anything you can do to help this family save their little puppy would be appreciated.
I know we can’t save the world, but we can sure try ‘
thanks for anything that helps....we are all so blessed, it’s nice to pay it forward and help someone and an innocent animal
