Save Amqui Station!

Donation protected
Discover Madison, Inc. - Amqui Station and Visitor Center is currently in need of raising $22,000 for repair to the 108 year old structure.

The history of the station is quite amazing.  Opened in 1910, Amqui Station was built by Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co.  In 1979, it was acquired by Johnny Cash to save the station from demolition.  Mr. Cash moved the station from Madison to his home in Hendersonville. June Carter Cash renovated the station and used the stunning building as an antique gift shop.  After Johnny and June passed, the station was moved back to its home in Madison, TN.

Now, this gem of a building and amazing piece of history is sitting in the heart of Madison and is in need of some love and care.

The FUNDS:

Funds will go toward repair and beautifucation efforts for the station, including repairing rotten wood, painting, and landscaping.  YES, there is water coming into the station when it rains!  This need is immediate so that we can preserve historical artifacts within the station.
The station itself is a wonderful museum.  Tours are free, but the upkeep is not.

Discover Madison, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) and donations are tax deductible.

Please help us in saving Amqui Station and preserving important Madison history!
