"Waheen- the community life centre" was convened and established to maintain an ethos of abundance in the life of the local  community. The organisers have come together in response to the deafening call for : 1) self- defined space - time for well- being, 2) guidance and protection of the young, 3) respect for the diversity of our free expression. At this time, our work revolves around the development of education, youth mentoring and developing sense of belonging. Currently, there is a powerful perception and experience of "lack" and " deficiency" which our Centre seeks to help redress with its fresh , renewed vision and capacity to serve efficiently and effectively. We have  collectively identified these needs over many years ofcof collective community development work. In an ideal world, the centre would be self sufficiently operating through the membership fees and community contribution, however, the unprecedented  time of Covid - 19, we are unable to cover the running cost including rent due to lockdown.  That is why we need  your help to pay for the rent . We are requesting  to assist us for the sake of maintaining a presence and continuation in the London borough of Lewisham . There is three month rent arrears to cover. Please help us  to have the Waheen- s community life centretcentre w socso that our youth have a place to learn their heritage and safe place to experience  their identity. Every little helps.
