Barnstorming America, Stories from the Pioneers of Women's Basketball, was written by John A. Molina and published in 2016 by Acclaim Press. In early 2018, the author of this book was personally threatened with cease and desist demands by the attorney of the current owner of one of the organizations for which some of the players featured in the book played. This particular barnstorming organization has not been actively booking women's basketball games since the mid-1980s. A significant amount of legal expenses to preserve the right of the players from this historical era of women's basketball to have their stories documented and shared for generations to come. Despite several attempts to settle this threat, it is still unresolved.  These unfounded allegations have had an adverse effect on a film option agreement; and the fear of legal retribution is preventing the players from feeling comfortable in sharing their stories and helping to further promote this wonderful historical book.  History will easily be forgotten if not for books such as Barnstorming America.  This includes players from the first professional league, The Women's Basketball League (WBL) This fund raising effort is being sponsored by a number of the players whose stories are part of Barnstorming America. The purpose of the funds will be to help cover the legal expenses to help preserve freedom of press rights, as well as the rights of the players to have their stories published. All donations in excess of actual legal expenses will be donated to similar causes to promote and preserve the history of women in sports. There has been no documentation provided that there has been any infringement on any copyright or registration laws in authoring Barnstorming America. To the contrary, everyone involved, including the publisher, can find no grounds for the legal threats that are ongoing. Thank you in advance for whatever contribution you are willing to make. If you donate a minimum of $75 and provide your name and mailing address, a signed copy of Barnstorming America will be sent to you as a heartfelt thank-you from the author of this book and the players of this amazing era of women's basketball. Please help us keep this era alive by making your donation today.   **Note** Donation may be made anonymously  by clicking 'hide name' under your name   Barnstorming America, Stories from the Pioneers of Women's Basketball - Please read reviews
