Save Wednesday!!

Hi everyone! Meet Wednesday, a 6 month old kitten who decided to eat something she shouldn’t have. It was my birthday last week, Tuesday, December 17th when early that morning, Wednesday began to vomit bile intermittently throughout the day. I stayed home from work that day as I was quite sick myself but also so I could monitor her. At 7:00 pm I took her into my work (I work at a holistic animal clinic) where she was given SQ fluids as she was dehydrated, a vitamin B12 injection and some homeopathic injections. I was advised to get an x-ray done the following day if her vomiting persisted, which unfortunately it did. On the Wednesday, December 18th she had an x-ray done which showed she in fact does have a foreign body; It is located in her pylorus. I have taken her to two different emergency hospitals, called local clinics as well as many other emergency hospitals in regards to her condition and unfortunately cost has been a big issue as I’m currently working to save money to go back to school. The emergency vets have quoted a minimum estimate of just over $6,000 but the procedure is most likely to end up being an upwards of $9,000 according to the vets I spoke with at emerg. Family members and vets have told me to just put her down if I can’t afford the surgery but I have been working desperately to find a way I can help my baby. I would hate myself to put down an animal who can be saved and therefore I can’t and won’t give up. I have been monitoring Wednesday 24/7 since the vomiting started and am getting little to no sleep because I’m so worried about her. December 17th was the last time she has eaten or drunk anything on her own. I have been syringe feeding water and wet food into her every hour as well as doing vital checks every hour. Wednesday is not doing well and continues to vomit bile intermittently, she has lost weight and has become almost skin and bones in a matter of almost a week. It is killing me to see her slowly wasting away day by day. She desperately needs the surgery, otherwise she will pass. I’d be so thankful if you wouldn’t mind sharing this with friends and family! Also if you’d like to give a donation it would be greatly appreciated. Nothing you give will ever be to small as it all helps! #SaveWednesday Xx Bernadette
