I feel weird asking for help to save my business, but it really is such a unique thing, I would really hate it if a thing like money would be the thing to kill the magic.
So, I have this wonderful Victorian house in Moorhead Minnesota that my friends, family, and I have transformed into an immersive magical venue. We host birthday parties as well as workshops and do fun and interesting crafts. We have had workshops and parties where we make Mermaid Mirrors, Fairy Doors, Wands, Potions, Treasure Boxes, and quite a few Birthday Parties.
I have been buying the house from a person as a Contract For Deed, and have used all of my own money to decorate the place and stock it with all of the supplies, but I am on my own. I have never owned a business before and I am learning as I go. I am sure I have made some spectacular mistakes, but I am trying. I can't really show you how hard I am trying.
I am a single mom with three young daughters. My husband died in 2014 and we miss him every day. My plate is full. I work part time at another job to make some extra money and I do my best to do all of the things necessary to plan parties, workshops, and other things to bring business into the venue, but I am juggling it with raising my babies and trying to make money to supplement. Some days it feels like I am failing at all of it.
The Contract comes up in March and he wants me to be able to pay it all off. At the moment, I am having problems paying the bills. I don't need help forever. I just need help right now. I don't have enough money coming in from the venue to hire someone who could help me with getting more business going, so I am struggling to do it on my own. With your help, I can keep the lights on and put all of my attention towards getting the word out and having more workshops and open hours.
I am SO stubborn. I BELIEVE in this place. I started it with my brother because as kids we had such vivid imaginations, and I loved it when we were at a fair or something and were immersed in an interactive environment that just allowed our minds to soar and play and make magic. I really really want to provide that to other children and even adults.
