HallConardUnited: Save the Warriors & Chieftains

My name is Scott Zweig and I am a proud graduate of Hall High School. Over the past six months, I have been working tirelessly with a dedicated group of parents, students, alumni and community members to preserve the team names used by our two great high schools: Conard Chieftains and Hall Warriors.

These historical cross-town rivals are joining forces to stand up to a flawed process undertaken by the West Hartford Board of Education to erase these honored and cherished team names from our high schools.

On June 6, 2022, a lawsuit was filed in Hartford Superior Court seeking to repeal the actions taken by the Board and prevent them from proceeding with the planned name changes. Make no mistake about it. The process employed by the Board was defective every step of the way. By cutting corners and violating their own policies, the Board deprived the people of West Hartford of their right of participation and proper notice. Their actions cannot be allowed to stand.

We are raising money to cover the legal fees and costs associated with the case. If you support our cause and want to join in the fight, please consider a donation. No matter how big or small, every dollar counts.

At the conclusion of the case, any remaining funds will be donated to the Hall and Conard Girl’s Softball teams to improve their facilities, which currently fall well below those of other schools in the area.
