Save the Port Royal Lighthouse!

Donation protected
The lighthouse at Port Royal is a national historic landmark. Officially called the Shafner Point Lighthouse, it is known by many in the community as the Port Royal Lighthouse. This iconic structure has stood sentinel for 137 years, watching over the waters of the Annapolis Basin at Schafner Point and keeping mariners safe. From the days of sail when tall ships navigated the Basin, to modern-day sea traffic of lobster boats and sailboats, the lighthouse has been here. It has withstood hurricane force winds and ice-choked waves thrown by fierce winter storms…but now the lighthouse needs our help.

Major repairs are desperately needed including replacing rotten corner posts, resheathing, new shingles and paint, replacing broken windowpanes, restoring the catwalk and other repairs. For the full story, visit our website: PortRoyalLighthouse.ca

Your donations will be used by the Port Royal Lighthouse Association, a volunteer-run not-for-profit community group, to carry out these urgently needed repairs and preserve this beautiful lighthouse for future generations. Sign-up for our e-Newsletter, and join our Facebook page for updates and stories.
