Save The Pinnipeds Education

Donation protected
Hawaiian monk seals are an endangered species of pinnipeds. Hawaiian monk seals are one of two extremely endangered types of monk seals. Hawaiian monk seals are also one of two native mammals of Hawaii. Humans have killed Hawaiian monk seals with guns and nets. Seals have been killed intentionally by fishermen and unintentionally with nets and fishing lines. Dogs who also may interact with seals can end up giving the seals a disease. There are less than 1500 Hawaiian monk seals left today. The problem is that the seals do not live long enough to mate and the population only goes down. By donating to this fundraiser you will donate to the Marine mammal center in Hawaii and help save the seals from extinction. They will help rehabilitate and rescue seals. If they live longer, they will have time to help the population and save the species. We will benefit from this because there will be less competition for fish. Monk seals are fish farmers, they help create reefs by pushing dead coral skeletons together and making homes for fish and coral polyps. We will get beautiful coral reefs to look at, fish to eat and they will just be doing what nature told them to do.
