Through hard work and love of ice sports, a great following has been built in our community and youth for an ice rink. For the first time in 8 years, we are finding ourselves on the verge of not having an ice rink for the upcoming winter seasons. This is a very bleak prospect for all of those who have put in so much of their lives to the project thus far, and all of our local youth in Southern Utah who have come to love and find a home at such a facility in both the rink itself and the wonderful community it has built. In seasons past the youth hockey league has had over 150 participants, the learn to skate program just over 100, an adult hockey league of 150 + players, a competitive high school hockey team and a club team at SUU. This is not to mention the thousands who frequented our rink every season from all over Southern Utah. Southern Utah Yeti (a 501c3 non-profit group) seeing the need are spearheading a new project in conjunction with Iron County and local businesses to bring a new seasonal rink to our community free of cost for all to use this season! The funds we are hoping to raise here will be going to new boards for next season, and future infrastructure at the Woods Ranch site, pending all goes well this season. SUY is putting all they have into this project and are very happy to do so just to keep the kids on the ice and the dream alive until we can finally bring the plan of a permanent year round rink to our community. We graciously ask for any help you can give to help this project along, and to move forward with our goal of a permanent facility for Southern Utah.
