In the late hours of Sunday night the HempShak in San Luis Obispo was broken into.
Those who committed this devastating crime helped themselves to everything from thousands of dollars in CBD, to clothing, crystals, jewelry and locally made art. For those of you that may not know about the hempshak and the beautiful local family that owns it; please take this moment to offer your hearts and your support. Owned by locals Steven and Katy, the hempshak has been alive for what has just reached 25 years. Like millions of business around the world struggling through this pandemic, decisions needed to be made to keep the business alive. Insurance was one of those things that had to be sacrificed, for no more than just one month. Due to this devastating fact Katy and Steven are now alone responsible for thousands of dollars owed to local artists who had their pieces displayed on consignment in the store, along with $50,000 of personally owned hempshak product. Please help if you can, every little bit gets us closer to preventing this local treasure from being shut down.
