Support KC Restaurants, Feed KC Community
UPDATE!!
OVER $3000 has been paid to locally owned food establishments to feed over 400 community members.
I am a Brookside resident of KC and I am putting this page together to support local restaurants and feed our KC community. Like most Kansas Citian's, I feel helpless on what I can do to support my community. I am staying isolated and ordering food from local restaurants. But, there is only so much food my family can order, or gift cards I can get. Yet, I still have the desire of wanting to do more.
I also read the concerns from friends in the non-profit sector regarding food pantries closing due to being run by volunteers, and shelters having to move people out. I feel helpless that I cannot do more to to ease the stress/fatigue/anxiety of the task at hand, and ahead with the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Our community needs food, and our restaurants need to feed.
As a community we can support both!! We can feed our at-risk community members by supporting our local KC restaurants. This fundraiser would collect money to pay local KC restaurants/caterers to provide food to the various community services/at-risk community members in need. Only restaurants locally owned will be asked to cater our community. We can connect two critical parts of our community in order to sustain our community.
Every $500 raised a different locally owned restaurant will cater more of our community members.
So please help me serve our community!
