<div>My name is Jon Chaters and I am the founder of the Toronto Stage Company.  Like you I was saddened to hear the news that The Fleck Dance Theatre was closing.  Since the announcement was made in November, I have been working on a plan to keep the theatre operating.

<div>I am pleased to share with you that The Toronto Stage Company has reached a framework agreement with Northam Realty Advisors to reopen, manage and operate the theatre for the next 5.5 years.  This agreement will allow The Toronto Stage Company to use the theatre for both our own season of plays and musicals while ensuring that the theatre is still available for use by Toronto’s dance community.

<div>As the name of The Fleck Dance Theatre is owned by Harbourfront Centre when reopening the theatre we will be renaming it The Terminal Theatre.

<div>Before we can complete our agreement to reopen the theatre, we need to show the landlord that we can presell enough tickets to make the theatre commercially viable.  That’s where you come in.  We need your help to make this happen.

<div>Beginning today we are running this fundraiser through gofundme.com. Our goal is to raise $300,000 in advance ticket sales.  We are not asking for a donation – your contribution will be held at the box office as a credit (like a gift card) for use in purchasing tickets to performances at the reborn Terminal Theatre.
