Save homeless kittens & mamas at great risk.

On October 20th the South Florida rescue community received a call that we could not ignore.  Honestly we can never ignore any call to action but this one was very urgent & horrifying.

a generous older woman had loved and cared for over 60 cats at her trailer deep in the heart of the Everglades.

after falling ill, the cats’ fate was dire as they could be attacked by wildlife & even their human neighbors.

one foster took in a Mama Cat who looked like she was about to pop.

well Mama Claus arrived at her Foster’s home at 8pm and gave birth to 5 kittens during that first night. So we welcomed Mama Claus & her Elves into rescue. We have 3 girls - Snowball, Sugarplum, & Pepper & 2 boys Keebler & Evergreen.

 

their road has not been without it’s challenges. Mama Claus was diagnosed with Coccidia, a dangerous and deadly parasite, and needed a fecal test and medicine to beat it. She is skinny & a bit weak but a loving and doting young mother.

the kittens are small but feisty.

 

Mama Claus & the elves are not alone in our rescue.  We have Katniss & BeeTee& Mags, & Mama Hazel, & Elvi, and many more.
close to 20 mamas and babies.

can you help us vet these kittens and others in our care.

every one of these cats & kittens need SNAP tests for FIV/FelV, dewormer, vaccines, fecals, spay/neuter, and a microchip.

these costs add up and if we continue to take more mama cats & kittens the kittens expenses will continue to blossom.

in the past week alone we have spent $240 on dewormer & $150 on vaccines. These are wholesale prices.

here is a general breakdown of prices per cat:

SNAP test $22

dewormer per cat between$18-$22

vaccines $20

spay/neuter $35-$45

microchip $30

these are low cost prices found at community clinics and spay/neuter mobiles.

we are asking for extra because each & every day we see dozens of pleas for Mama Cats & kittens or orphaned kittens & we desperately want to help but cannot afford it without help from the public. These cats are a community issue and we are trying even if, at times, it feels like our efforts are not nearly enough.
