SAVE the Cat Home

Donation protected
Update: We have increased the total to include all cat home repairs: $8712.77 - the repair work has been completed and the cats saved but we still need to raise the funds that it cost to do. This is as of Thursday June 23, 2022.

Repairs included: Crawlspace Inspection, Crawlspace Repair, HVAC Repairs, Home Repair Labor, Laundry Machine Repair, Hot Water Heater, Electric, Emergency Air Conditioner Unit, and Miscellaneous Repairs.  These were lifesaving repairs. Without them, cats would have perished as well as 28 dogs including newborn pups on a 16 degree winter night.

The Cat Home's insulation was destroyed by a combination of dogs seeking refuge in the cold and a bad plumbing job where the insulation was ripped out and never replaced. We could lose the plumbing / HVAC over the winter due to this thus destroying a substantial part of the cat home. We have had a thorough inspection and we have a contractor who will fix it for $4650. We MUST fix this before winter time i.e. no later than November. If we don't fix this, the HVAC and plumbing may be compromised over the winter making the home useless for seasons to come.  We also have an additional stretch goal of $2200.

Our hope is to have it started by the end of September. Would you help save the cat home? This is a MOBILE home which has different insulation requirements and becomes much more vulnerable than a conventional site built home with insulation issues and spray foam is not an option.  2/3rds of the trailer needs 1/3 of the insulation while 1/3rd of the trailer needs 3/3rds of the insulation. This is an emergency and MUST be started as soon as possible. The contractor will start the job with $2000 down. Our stretch is an additional $2200 ($6800) to have the plumbing lines correctly re-done and properly individually insulated which will make future servicing easier and less expensive.  If we do this, it has to be done at the same time as the insulation.  If we don't, we have to bury the plumbing inside the insulation which means it would need torn down if there were plumbing line issues in the future.
