Hello friends and family of The Bowery Electric, we hope you are staying healthy and safe!
As with most of our nightlife/ hospitality community we are closed until further notice due to COVID-19. This has left our entire staff (over 30 employees) without a job. Rumors of government aid and unemployment for all are not currently a reality; the unemployment website keeps crashing and getting through on the phone is an impossibility, which leaves countless members of our amazing team unable to apply. Many of our DJs, bartenders, and barbacks live week to week, relying on this income for basic necessities for themselves and their families.
Our hearts go out to everyone during this serious time, and it's been a life disruption for so many people in the community. If it is within your means, any donation is greatly appreciated, as every dollar raised will go directly to The Bowery Electric staff.
