You may be wondering how we got to the place where we owe $4625 in order not to loose our medical insurance. Mid-April, I (Wendy) was diagnosed with severe postpartum depression (PPD) and have been on medical leave since receiving the diagnosis. When I get sick, I usually bounce back to normal quickly. I don't let anything keep me down for too long. Not this time! Recovery from PPD is much slower than I want. I feel like PPD stole who I am and I'm fighting to get myself back. My medical leave is anticipated to be until the end of June, with the possibility of returning to work sooner if medically approved.
The youngest Allen, Zoey Annalise, was born on Nov. 15, 2016 to Wendy and Johnelle and sisters Haelley Marie and Anita Rose. Two months after Zoey's birth, I returned to work. Fast forward three months...and bam, the Allen's learned first hand what PPD is all about.
I am fighting to recover from PPD with the support of my family and friends. My husband is Johnelle; and my daughters are Haelley Marie (20 years), Anita Rose (2 years), and Zoey Annalise (6 months). I love my family❤ With God and them by my side, they inspire me to keep fighting to get back to being myself.
The financial impact to the household has been extremely tough. Normally, the premium for our medical insurance is deducted from my paychecks. However, since I am on medical leave and not working, the income I receive from disability is much lower. We simply cannot pay the premium. Our financial focus has been keeping our place to live, food, transportation, medical copays, prescibed medications...Oh...and diapers..they are expensive!...and both Anita and Zoey need them.
If we don't pay the amount due, our medical insurance will be cancelled effective May 1st. This means that all the claims for prescriptions and medical services will be reversed, leaving us owing the full cost. The premium due for the Allen Family's medical insurance is $4625. We have exhausted all resources, including cashing out accrued vacation hours. We cannot pay the medical insurance premium that is due. Now, here we are humbly asking for you to make a donation, which will be used to pay the family's medical insurance premium. Please be our miracle! ❤
