Save Sunshine's Horses

Donation protected
Covid has posed many difficult problems for businesses in the UK. Those who have been forced to close will furlough their staff, turn off the lights and shut the door.  Having a riding school means this is not possible.

Sunshine Riding School is home to 16 beautiful, talented and cheeky horses. From our 30 year old 11//2 hand high Dottie who has taught over a thousand children to ride to 14 year old, 16 hand high dressage mare Dora, to 16 year old, 17//3 hand high ex-eventer Charlie and all in between -- these horses need your help. The forced closure of the riding school means that the money normally available to provide feed and bedding has disappeared.

Sunshine Riding has not been irresponsible and has applied for the government grants which are available, but the money is not guaranteed nor has it been timely.  We are still waiting for any payment to appear from the government which is why we have been forced into this unprecedented move.  Our wonderful horses need to eat. Our beautiful horses need to be cared for. Our talented horses need to trained. With no money available, this can not and will not happen. The doors may be closed, but the work still must continue. Our need is not next week or next month, but yesterday.

Watching our video, you will see what Sunshine Riding School provides for the people of Luton, Bedfordshire.  We work with vulnerable young people and adults giving them the opportunity to develop self confidence and esteem. We work with individuals who suffer from mental illness and PTSD, giving them space to cope and heal. Sunshine Riding School provides opportunities to grow and develop in the equestrian sports through open, fair and supportive competition. Sunshine teaches young people from age 4 to "too old to ask", but all of this will come to a halt if we can not make it to the 30th of March.  Yes, the money we are asking for is to tide us over until Easter 2021.

Saving Sunshine will mean that we can continue to our work in Luton. Marsh Farm, a designated area of deprivation in England, is on our doorstep and we know we have made a difference for many young people. We want to stay part of our community and to improve lives. Your support means you aren't just saving a riding school, but helping make a real impact on a community and a town.  To see young people have an opportunity to gain skills that can lead to employment and a career.

So your help Saving Sunshine's Horses actually means you are saving not only animals, but the vulnerable, the poor, the young, the grown-up, the curious, and the talented -- a community.

Please give generously and thank you for your help.
