Help Us Save Southill Fields: The Fight for Our Green Gap

Southill Fields is more than just an empty space—it is a vital sanctuary. It is home to foxes, badgers, owls, and bats, and supports a rich variety of butterflies, moths and priority neutral grassland.

Currently, there is a proposal to build 360 homes on this land. This development wouldn't just destroy a precious ecosystem; it would have a devastating impact on our community, worsening existing flooding issues and creating dangerous levels of traffic congestion.

Why we need your help NOW

To stop this development for good, we need more than just our own sightings and passion; we need professional, scientific evidence. Right now, a small handful of us are doing everything we can to keep this space safe, but we have reached the point where we need expert intervention. We need to fight data with data.

What we are raising for:

We are raising funds to hire a qualified ecologist to conduct an official, independent survey of the land. A professional report is the only way to provide the legal and environmental weight needed to challenge these planning applications.

An ecologist will officially document:

Protected Species: Proving the presence of bats, owls, and other rare wildlife.

Habitat Health: Highlighting the importance of the priority neutral grassland.

Flooding & Infrastructure: Providing data to show why this land cannot sustain 360 houses.
