Save Soulace

Hello family, friends and neighbors!

Soulace is Nashville's only community flow center, and one of the only such places in the Southeastern US. We support the flow arts in all incarnations, and spread the philosophy of flow for healthy minds and bodies.

Right now, we need your help.

This fund raiser will enable us to get out from under some of the debt we accrued in originally setting up the space. Breaking even from month to month on rent is amazing, and it has been barely keeping our doors open for the last 18 months, but it is not helping with those debts as they pile up earning interest. Freeing ourselves from these debts will allow us to be much more flexible in dealing with any future financial challenges, and to weather the "off seasons" much more easily. If we can make our goal, the money will be spent in the following way:

4k to pay off our Lowe's card, which debt was mostly flooring and physical changes to the space when we moved in.

2k to other miscellaneous debt... a couple of small credit cards and vendors, and the electric company, specifically.

4k remaining to upgrades on the space. We desperately need electical work done to support the kinds of events people want to have here (dedicated breakers for stages, grounding work on the entire system, and new electrical drops for greater flexiblity in setup), proper crash bars for our fire exits, a few more crash mats for aerialists, as well as a little bit turned back into upgrading our sound system for everyone's enjoyment. That sound system is pushing 20 years old and needs definite TLC  and updates.

If you have been following the journey of Soulace, you know that I have been throwing everything I possibly can into helping this space succeed. It is a dream come true for this space to even exist at all. I cannot overstate how much a donation for this cause will mean to me, and to the larger flow arts community in Nashville. We need this for the dream to survive reality.

I know this seems like a big goal. Bear in mind though that if a lot of people give a little, it's not such a insurmountable task, and it's possible to make even more than we are hoping for!  Any and ALL funds raised from this campaign will go directly to supporting Soulace.
