Save Small Businesses, Save TRAIN ATHLETEIST!

Donation protected
My cousin Sara Racey Batraville and her husband Pierre Batraville left New York City in search of a city where they could make their dreams, a reality. They landed in Sunny Scottsdale Arizona in September 2019 with their four year old son, Cyrus.

They took their entire life savings to open their very first gym and retail store, ATHLETEIST. Sara, a former fashion model finally had a storefront for her one of a kind clothing designs and Pierre, a former celebrity trainer in NYC finally had his dream of his very own personal training studio. Together, they had combined dreams and it was REALITY!

In order to get to that point, they had to leverage EVERYTHING they had to move across the country to open this business that they've been dreaming about for years.

In February, they were finally able to pay their bills and break even on their business, a major milestone of things picking up in the right direction.

Then March hit and shutdowns began. Being forced to close their doors, Pierre turned to online training to try to supplement as best as he could after losing all of their freshly acquired clients. When that wasn't cutting it, he was forced to get a side job delivering packages for Amazon.

Fast forward to present day - many of their clients have not returned to the gym because they've lost their jobs, and while some have -- it's simply not enough to keep the gym afloat. July was their make it or break month to get things back on track, even just to break even.

Before you tell me they should get a business loan, here's the facts:
Because they haven't filed taxes and are a BRAND NEW business (photo below is Oct 1 2019) they do not qualify. They also haven't been able to show any profit because frankly, they hadn't gotten to that point yet. None of this should be surprising considering most businesses don't profit for 3-5 years.

NOW AZ GOVERNOR DOUG DUCEY MAKES THE DECISION TO CLOSE GYMS FOR 30 DAYS.
No government financial assistance will be provided to the businesses who suffer from ANOTHER closure and for this business which was already on the brink of closing after the effects of the first devastating shutdown -  this is a huge blow.

I am asking you to help save this families dream. This is Sara and Pierre's American dream and we can't stand by and silently let small businesses fail. They are the cornerstone of our country.

Respectfully,

Jessica Leila Adnani - Small Business Owner & cousin of Sara Racey Batraville
