<div>His mother (Silas Katama) had already been confirmed as a compatible kidney donor, but the transplant could not proceed because of the high cost and limited specialist expertise available.

<div>Following recent laser surgery on, June 2026, his remaining kidney in Nairobi, Kenya, he developed life-threatening complications, requiring ventilation in ICU, ongoing blood transfusions, and doctors are treating fluid affecting his lungs.

<div>Per medico-surgical advice (referral), he urgently needs advanced specialist treatment, which may include a kidney transplant at a hospital outside Kenya. The estimated cost of treatment, travel, and ongoing care exceeds AUD$180,000.00 far beyond what our family can afford.
