Save Scribbles
Hello everyone. It is with great sadness that we are creating this gofundme page. The sassy Scribbles, explorer extraordinaire, has had a stroke of bad luck. She was found Tuesday night on a road nearby, meowing and unable to use her back legs. Thanks to the quick actions of those who found her, she was made comfortable for the night until we could get her to the vet clinic the following morning.
Whether the victim of a hit and run, or quite possibly her own poor balance/decision making, Scribbles has dislocated her pelvis and fractured it in two places.
We were informed by the vet that in addition to very strict crate rest, surgery would give Scribbles the best chance for a successful outcome, with the quickest return to her normal function and daily activities. The surgery will include implantation of steel pins and screws. Because the clinic in Revelstoke does not have the means to perform the surgery she needs, she will have to go out of town. A referral was sent out to a doctor in Kelowna, who estimated the surgery costs to be $2000-$2500. Along with the costs of initial checks, drugs and x-rays, the $3000 goal covers all of Scribs' medical needs.
Scribbles just turned 2 in June and has so much life left ahead of her - not going through with the surgery doesn't seem to be an option. So, we are asking for donations of any amount that you can, in the hopes of collecting enough money to put towards her surgery and additional vet bills. Those of you who have encountered Scribbles will know she's a friendly and energetic little furball, always happy to say hello to the people she meets on her strolls around town. Scribbles has made lots of friends and we hope to get her back out to see them all as soon as possible.
