Save Santu

This is Santu. He is a survivor of the dog meat trade in South Korea. While I was at the PyeongChang Olympics this past month as a part of Team Canada I was able to connect with Nami at Save Korean Dogs and she introduced me to Santu. Working closely with Save Korean Dogs and Cupcakes Pommy & Friends Rescue I was able to bring him home to Canada with me and escape the dog meat trade. Upon arriving home and visiting the vet we have discovered many serious concerns with Santu’s health. He is heartworm positive and severely anemic. He is currently at Central Veterinary Services undergoing multiple blood transfusions and heartworm treatments. He is also incredibly underweight at less than half his normal body weight. Ironically being this malnourished is what saved his life as he did not have much meat to offer. It’s a long and hard road ahead for Santu and we are asking for any donations to help with the cost of his veterinary care.
