<div>Hello, I'm Valerie. My darling, sweet calico cat, <strong>Ruby</strong>, has somehow ruptured her Achilles tendon pretty severely. She needs <strong>$6,700 worth of surgery plus follow-up appointments and related expenses</strong>. The vet says that <strong>if she doesn't get this surgery in the next six months, the only option left will be to amputate her leg - which costs about $3,000 on its own.</strong>

<div>The cost of this surgery seems so insurmountable, as I'm just getting back on my feet and about to start a new full-time role. I don't even know how I would pay for her leg to be amputated - which is the last thing I want.
