Save Rockin' the River 2020!

With the arrival of the coronavirus, funding for Rockin’ the River’s 10th anniversary season has evaporated. Without guaranteed funding by May 1st, the series will have to be cancelled for 2020.

This is your chance preserve the concert series for the Russian River community!

Rockin’ the River has the distinction of being the only civic concert series in the Bay Area produced within an unincorporated area. It relies entirely on underwriting from local organizations and businesses. The coronavirus has hit everyone hard and all resources have been diverted to economic survival and first-line relief efforts, as it should be.

 Instead of simply shuttering the concert series for 2020, we have decided to run a 30-day experiment to see if we can raise the funds to salvage at least part of the 10th anniversary season. (We had just completed booking the series when the virus hit. You can view the line-up at RockinTheRiver.org .)


If your income stream has remained intact, please consider being a candle in the storm to bring music, art and culture back to the community as soon as it is safe to do so.

The creative community has been especially hard hit by the coronavirus. Your donation will not only allow us to bring back the music as soon as possible, it’s a love letter to all the people who make the music possible.

Rockin’ the River is more than the concerts. It’s a community gathering place, a platform for local non-profits to promote their projects. It’s a source of community pride serving many demographics, answering a variety needs (recreational, economic and cultural) and engaging many talented and dedicated segments of the community. 

Our plan is to make something happen with whatever funds we raise.

·       Should we be wildly successful (by raising upwards of $50K) and if the coronavirus dust settles in time, the series could run as scheduled.

·       Should we raise a good portion, we could run an abbreviated series


·       Should we raise $15K, we might put on a one-day Rockin’ the River festival

·       In the event the coronavirus lingers, and the season must be cancelled regardless of funds raised, the money will be used to bring back live music in 2021
