Every day, I think about the battle-weary nurses in my community at Glendale Adventist Hospital’s COVID-19 unit. They're at risk, in harm's way, overworked, burnt out, and feeling forgotten.
At the beginning of the pandemic, people came out every night for healthcare workers. We honked horns, cheered, and applauded their heroism. We expressed thanks. We donated. But now more than ever, our frontline nurses in California are battling an unprecedented surge and our restaurants are struggling to stay afloat with new, increased lockdowns!
The concept is simple: All the donations made will go directly to a Entre Nous, a restaurant struggling with this unprecedented year and they will make meals for nurses and frontline staff of the COVID-19 unit at Glendale Adventist Hospital.
2020 has likely been a difficult year for you too, but if you donate to this fundraiser, Entre Nous, an independent restaurant, will use the money to prepare and deliver healthy meals to the floor staff at Glendale Adventist Hospital. Any amount is welcome and appreciated, and it all goes to the restaurant to fuel this effort! The more we raise, the more meals provided, and the more we also support our hard-hit local restaurant workers. This is a doubly wonderful donation you'll be making!
This fundraiser is one of many that telehealth nurses all over the country are coordinating in their hometowns. United by our desire to support hospital nurses, we're mobilizing this feeling into real action that will give a much-needed lift to hospital staff and restaurants everywhere.
Funds will be collected through February for meal deliveries in January and February. So please, save restaurants and feed nurses. Let's take care of them, so they can continue taking care of us!
