So… please bare with me, I’m EXTREMELY emotional writing this so it might be all over the place.

As some of you know, we lost Rex, our bearded dragon back in November. Devastated was understatement. I waited too long to take him to the vet and the day of his appointment, he passed in my arms. I promise myself I would never make a mistake again.

Fast-forward to now… Regina (My female bearded dragon) is gravid. (With eggs, unfertile) but she won’t lay. Because of which she has become egg bound.

We took her to the vet and it’s going be upwards of 2-3K to “fix” her…. (Xrays, injections, manual manipulation to get her to lay naturally and possibly surgery to remove the eggs, along with a hysterectomy, so we never have to deal with eggs again )

We are raising our 4 kids and fostering our niece on a single income…. We just don’t have that kind of disposable money right now. So, we did the only thing we could do, we brought her home in hopes that she would lay her eggs naturally. It’s been three days, she won’t lay, won’t eat or drink she’s become lethargic, so weak, black bearding (her way of telling me she’s in pain) and in other words…. she’s dying.

We have another vet appointment for tomorrow, and if we don’t come up with the money we will have no choice but have to put her down so she will no longer be in pain…. Put down my otherwise healthy bearded dragon, just because she’s pregnant.

Regina is the ONLY thing keeping me together after loosing Rex…. I’m not ok. And the thought of her not being here is mentally and emotionally crushing me.

I am not one to ever ask for charity, but I don’t know what else I can do to help save her life. I’m asking, If you can help out, even just a little bit, I will be forever grateful.
