Support Ra Yoga

Neighborhood businesses are the heart and soul of our collective communities. Right now, many are facing a crisis.

I am here reaching out on behalf of a true local gem, Ra Yoga Studio—a beloved independent business in Orange County, California—to humbly ask for your support.

When I first met my husband Bobby Kittleman and my dear friend Jenny Vande-Hei Secor, the co-owners of Ra Yoga, they spoke of starting a business that would serve the community by cultivating a sacred space for collaboration, friendship, continued self development & personal wellness.  Shortly thereafter I watched in awe as they lovingly and tirelessly brought Ra Yoga into being, opening their doors in 2011.

Ever since, Ra has committed to operate in the service of others;  offering connection, opportunity, love and space for the human condition through their 500+ classes per week, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, holiday gatherings, impromptu dance parties, Rakti-Fests, front lobby concerts, and more recently Ra Yoga Live - a livestream digital yoga platform.

The growth Ra has experienced in opening a few more locations during the last several years is a powerful confirmation of just how extraordinary and impactful the Ra community has become.

After closing their doors due to the recent global health crisis and mandatory shutdown orders, Ra’s future is in uncharted territory for the first time.

I believe that we're all going to need Ra again.  We'll need this safe harbor.  This blissful retreat where we can all gather again.  For that to happen, the next 3 to 4 months will be critical.

Despite the hard work and dedication of its owners, especially through the pandemic, it may not be enough to keep four studios and a dedicated training center open, to take care of their amazingly dynamic 200+ yoga instructors and 50+ staff, and to continue to offer this oasis in a world that desperately needs more unity and thus more yoga.

Frankly, it is uncomfortable to ask for financial help when we could all use some in this difficult time. So I write to you with deep love and appreciation, not only for Bobby & Jenny who have shared their hearts and souls with their Ra tribe, but for our unique and influential community.

I am asking for your generous help, and seeking any relief you are able to offer Ra Yoga.

Please donate if you can, or share this page and spread the word about this campaign.

Any funds raised will go towards operating costs for the immediate future (payroll, rent, utilities), as Ra works hard to recoup its losses from the mandated six-month long studio closures.

I know these are challenging and uncertain times for everyone, and so it feels like a true role reversal to ask for a helping hand instead of give one. But because of your love and support, I am hopeful that Ra Yoga will continue to create opportunity and serve its community through wholehearted radical connection for years to come.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In Gratitude,

Amy Kittleman
