Save Patti's House

Hi everyone. This fundraiser has been created with the purpose of helping Ben and Phil keep their mom's house.  Our mom, Patti Speer, died unexpectedly after suffering a fall while on vacation in Costa Rica. There is quite a bit left on the mortgage ($179,000), and neither of us have the ability to pay it currently. We would initially like to get a years worth of expenses covered for the house, to buy us some time to figure out whether or not we are going to have to sell it, or if we can rent it. If at all possible, we would like to avoid selling it. It would be an invaluable asset; having a familiar and reliable living situation for Ben is of paramount importance, but being able to secure both Ben's and Phil's financial futures rests on our ability to keep the house. The monthly expenses average out to about $2,050 a month, with $1,362 going towards the mortgage, and the rest going towards utilities. Over a 12 month period that adds up to a little under $25,000. I've also added a little extra in for any property taxes or any repairs we may have to make during that time. Having the expenses for the house covered for that time will also allow for any issues we may have with Probate Court to sort themselves out without us having to worry about losing the house. Please help us save Patti's house. She wanted above all else to make sure we had that house.
