This Go Fund Me page is set up on behalf of my mum - she said:

***Update: We have now surpassed our original goal of £500 to pay for a scan and we can’t thank you enough. Any future funds raised above will contribute to Ozzie’s treatment which we will keep you all updated about. Again thank you so much. We truly are now feeling so positive for Ozzie’s prognosis and treatment.

"Thank you for visiting the Save Ozzie's Eyesight Go Fund Me page. Ozzie is a 5-year-old dachshund who means an awful lot to us. I am a carer for my partner who has MS; which at times can be very isolating and lonely. 5 years ago I was looking online and found an advert showing a puppy who was curled up, slightly plump and looking for a forever home. My heart melted as I considered how this small bundle could positively impact our feelings of being lonely. Fast forward several years and I cannot begin to express to you what joy Ozzie has brought to our lives. He is a reason to get out and get some fresh air, he gives us an opportunity to engage with people in our small village, my partner has trained him to walk alongside his mobility scooter which has given him a new lease of life and the incentive to get outside.  Ozzie has unconditional love for us, is always happy to see us and gives the best cuddles. Ozzie has had such a positive impact on us that we have welcomed two more 'sausages' into our home and Ozzie loves his brothers and sisters.
Just over a month ago we noticed that Ozzie had begun bumping into things around the house and on walks. We thought maybe he was just tired or being lazy (he is a bit sometimes!) however, this has got progressively worse and he is now in real danger of hurting himself on a walk which means my partner can no longer take him out on his mobility scooter. We made an appointment with the vet and unfortunately we have been told that Ozzie has suddenly lost 98% of his eyesight. We are devastated. The vet has informed us that a specialist will be able to take a scan of his eyes to see if anything can be done to correct his eyesight. Unfortunately, this kind of specialist treatment is expensive, with limited funds ourselves and our pet insurance not covering this level of illness, we feel we must do everything we can for him and repay him for everything he has done for us. Therefore, we are asking for help to provide Ozzie with the treatment he needs and would like to ask if you are willing to help us to be able to get him a specialist scan. We can't thank you enough for reading this and even if you can't donate please share or tell your friends, it would mean so much. Thank you so much for your support and helping give Ozzie the care he deserves".
