Save Our Youth Chicago Grinders AAU

Save Our Youth Chicago is an Illinois Not For Profit and 501c3 organization dedicated to providing at risk youth the opportunity to participate in high level AAU basketball.  The team name is Chicago Grinders and focuses on inner city 15 and 16 year old boys.  The Coaches are all Chicago School System educators and serve as mentors.  The Chicago Grinders have been selected to participate in the Addidas AAU circuit with tournaments in  Indianapolis, Atlanta, Memphis, NY, LA and Vegas.  These tournaments provide access to college coaches and introduces our players to life beyond high school and inner city Chicago.  SOY, has tapped into prominent business, lawyers and community leaders to assist in meeting its mission.  Through private donations, SOY has been able to attend three tournaments at no cost to the players.  95% of the players come from below poverty and have no parental financial support to participate.

We are seeking support to continue to provide this experience to our future youth.  The players must adhere to a standard of excellence in school, within the community and giving back.

Please help support these dedicated coaches keep our most at risk youth off the streets of Chicago and in the gym, around mentors and providing exposure to colleges.

All funds will be used to enter tournaments, travel (van/air), hotels and meals.  We travel with 20 players - 10 for the 15U team and 10 for the 16U team and 4 coaches.

We host local events seeking financial support.

The funds will go directly to the Save Our Youth Chicago bank account for dedicated use to support the program.
