Save our Travis

How much would you do or spend to save your pets life?  Our little Foxy called Travis has been part of our family for 6 years after being found abused and traumatised and to this day is still blind in one eye.

He is part of our family of seven and has been my young sons best friend from the moment we took him home from the animal shelter.

My son has Autism and Travis has been there through thick and thin as my son has grown.   That's his best mate and they have never been apart for long.

As I write this our darling Travis is on a ventilator machine to help him not only calm him while the toxins from what is now thought to be a very small tick are slowly taken away from his body but also to help drain his lungs as he is battling pneumonia.

Yesterday, as we all stood around, crying watching helplessly and knowing if we continued the thought of deciding to stop treatment when the vet has given him a 60% chance of survival seemed a no-brainer!!     The huge problem tho if we continued with saving the most loved dog xx  in Australia was to put him in a ventilator machine and having him monitored with his own nurse at a cost of up to $5,000 a day!!!

Trying to explain to my children the reasoning for the huge cost only made them angrier at the vets but my younger boy with Autism has been the hardest to make understand.   So as a family we have scratched together what we could and at 11.30 am yesterday 06th November our beautiful little boy went into the ventilator machine.

Overnight I called twice and again this morning to find no change and to be told it takes a few days to see improvement!

We have no money left except $1,500 I gleaned from a friend and the leftover in my account.    In fact when I raced to the ATM this morning I ran into a friend I hardly know who could see how distressed I was and gave me $50.             I couldn't stop crying through her generosity.  :(

So I'm asking for some assistance so we can bring our dearly loved boy home.   We miss him so, so much and our home and children have all lost their spark.

Thank you and we are forever grateful.     xxx
