Save Our Steeple @ Templebreedy, Crosshaven, Cork

Also we have brought sheep to the site to take over from the goats. See photo below with them trying to get a share of our hamper from Cadbury & Today FM when our project & Crosshaven was nominated  & won April Soundtown.

Templebreedy SOS is a small volunteer community group working with Cork County Council and the Department of Heritage to secure St. Matthews Church structure from further disrepair. We have raised the majority of funds required through grants but we are short €10K to realise the full project. We are asking everyone in the community of Crosshaven and further a field to donate between €5 and €10 to help save this iconic landmark for future generations to enjoy. Your donation would help secure the structure of this beautiful church built in 1778 & it would also help complete consolidation work which has just recently begun on site. 
Our goat scaping project was very successful during the summer months attracting a lot of social media attention. The goats helped to remove vegetation on gravestones in an environmentally friendly way.The church is located in Templebreedy, on a headland in the mouth of Cork Harbour well know for its scenic aspect and also a well known landmark for sea farers.
In addition to saving the steeple local volunteers have cleaned up the graveyard which surrounds the church and we are currently surveying and recording all the gravestones in Templebreedy so that ancestral burial information is available to view on-line.
We would be very grateful for any donation that you can give as this will ensure that we will have this beautiful church & heritage with us for at least another 200 years.
