Our local communities have been campaigning for over a year against the proposed Ardtaraig Wind Farm, which will have a devastating impact on one of Scotland's most beautiful and precious National Scenic Areas. We were successful at the local level, and the Argyll & Bute council refused the planning application. We were also grateful for the strong support against this application by SNH.
However, Infinergy has appealed this decision to the Scottish government on the last possible day of appeal. We are now in a race against time to prepare our submissions for the appeal process.
We have hired a consultant to assist our efforts, and are looking to raise both funds and support from any friend, neighbour or fellow citizen throughout Scotland to help us save our National Scenic Area, an asset which belongs to all of us and future generations.
We live in communities located in Cowal: Glendaruel, Colintraive, Stronafian, Achnabreck, Clachaig; Sandbank, Kilmun, Strone, Dunoon, Strachur, Isle of Bute and surrounding areas.
Why we need your help to prevent the: 1. DESTRUCTION OF OUR NATIONAL SCENIC AREA
2. DAMAGE TO OUR TOURISM INDUSTRY AND JOBS / DAMAGE TO LANDSCAPES
3. DESTRUCTION OF PRIME EAGLE HABITAT
4. DAMAGE TO OUR HEALTH
We need your help by July 31st to ensure Infinergy's appeal is met with the proper response.
