Save Our Home - Samaritan House

Samaritan House is a recuperative medical care program for individuals that are experiencing homelessness. Medical respite care fills a service gap between hospitals and shelters. We provide a home-like care to those without a home. We provide a safe place to recover with medical monitoring and support services including food, laundry, transportation to medical appointments, medication management, security, case management and referral to specialty appointments.

Primary goals are to reduce recidivism into hospitals, reduce pain and suffering, and increase positive health outcomes.
Samaritan House does not charge or bill for services. Samaritan House does not receive any county, state, or federal funding.
Post pandemic, we strived to give the most optimal place for guests to recover. However, between inflation, critical house repairs, decrease in donations and an increase in demand for services, Samaritan House is in danger of closing permanently.

Samaritan House has worked to improve all areas of the organization to improve the guest experience and has arrived in 2023 with the biggest challenge yet: Raise $200,000 to support continued operations and make critical repairs to the home by July 1,2023 or face closure.

“When I told the cop I needed help- real help- I had no idea the gift that she gave me when we rolled up at Samaritan House.
Living on the street was hard, the shelter even harder for a lady like me. I had given up hope.
This was the first time in my adult life I was sober and I didn’t want to mess it up. The social worker helped me reconnect with my primary care doctor- I had several places where skin cancer had resurfaced again- but I had no idea how to navigate the system for treatment.
One of the volunteers at Samaritan House was a cancer survivor and told me not to worry- they had me.
That is when I relaxed- they did have me- I got to my appointments, found a cancer specialist and started treatment. The treatments worked and my cancer is gone.
The social worker helped me find permanent housing near my family and I am working to rebuild relationships with them. I owe my new life to Samaritan House- they gave me the love and support just when I needed it most.” Samaritan House Client
