Save Our Chef, Sister and Great Citizen!

WRITTEN BY FRIENDS WHO LOVE AND KNOW LULETA…

Whenever she’s called upon to contribute and lend a hand to any number of causes in the community, Luleta Brown is there and willing, and for many years volunteering her time in kitchens around the Toronto area feeding the hungry and tendering her expertise cooking healthy and fine foods for the needy.

In her own right as an entrepreneur, nothing can be further from the truth that she's the penultimate secret chef; not because she's shy but because she's the best-kept secret in the culinary arts world, many of us who know her will agree. Luleta's carefully crafted meals which have endeared the palates of clients, friends and admirers, are today taking a back seat to her current challenge in life: scleroderma, an autoimmune disease which, like cancer, is a terminal illness without a one-time modern-day cure.

Scleroderma is a rare disease which affects its victims in the most excruciating way, tightening body tissues and skin against themselves and effectively encumbering motion skills. Luleta has been in pain the past one year as she struggles against this wicked disease, unable to move freely, have great night sleeps, or work her masterful kitchen skills that have fed hungry party- and eventgoers, friends and well-wishers.

So we come to you today asking for your help! Luleta would continue to need herbal and traditional palliatives and medicines for some time from far and distant places outside Canada to curb the restrictions scleroderma is currently putting on her life. To that end, we are asking friends and well-wishers of Luleta to give monetary contributions to this Go FundMe campaign so she can continue to get the alternative medicines needed in her fight against this deadly and debilitating disease. Please note that every penny counts. No amount you give is too small!
For many people with this disease, scleroderma progresses slowly; but in Luleta's case, it has progressed quickly and time is of the essence for her. It costs thousands of dollars for quarterly treatments of this disease and, because Luleta is constrained to work by scleroderma, we beg you to give as your purse permits to help Luleta be her sprightly and colourful self again as these treatments continue to prevent the scourge this disease is capable of inflicting.
