Save our Booty!

Hi, we're Aletheia, Kim, Damien, Mina and Rain, and we're fundraising to pay for the medical expenses of our sweetheart of a cat named Booty. On August 22nd, 2023 a CT scan found an aggressive mass growing in Booty's skull. We were told that it's 95% likely to be cancer.

Booty is still very much enjoying her life! She's active, playful, eating well, loves to cuddle, jump and tumble, watch the world outside her window, and play with her toys. Aletheia has been chronically ill for the past three years which has left them mostly bedbound, and Booty has been their constant companion -- always attentive, and even alerting others when Aletheia had a fever or something else was wrong. She's always been very gentle, thoughtful, and smart, and we would really love to give her what comfort and wellness we can in return for as long as we're able.

Booty's Diagnosis:

This past year has been difficult for Booty, with frequent visits to the vet for wheezing, congestion and nosebleeds. Booty was treated for everything from allergies to an upper respiratory infection, but when nothing helped, the vet referred Booty to have a CT scan with the expectation of, perhaps, finding a nasal polyp.

Unfortunately, an aggressive mass was discovered instead. We are currently working with the combined team of Healing Spirit Animal Wellness Center and Broadway Animal Hospital in Eureka, CA as well as UC Davis in Davis, CA to try to get her the time sensitive treatment she needs. Without treatment, we were told that Booty has 3 - 6 months left to live.

What Are We Doing?:

Besides GoFundMe, Booty's family is hard at work by making custom made earrings, baking sweet treats, and designing Booty themed trading cards in order to raise funds. We've reduced all of our spending to the very bare minimum so that we can put every cent toward Booty's care. We welcome other fundraising ideas!

Treatment and the Use of Donations:

We're hoping to get her full treatment at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, but already her medical costs are piling up. Funds will be used to pay for Booty's procedures (working on getting her a biopsy right now), medication, specialty food, and all other medical expenses, as well as the costs of transportation, lodging, and food for getting her where she needs to be.
