Fundraiser for Gayle

I'm not someone who is used to asking for help from anyone. But a time is approaching my family that came upon us very rapidly and we are left unprepared for it. My mother, who has been in Woodlawn for over 40 years, has been diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. On top of that she was also diagnosed with dimentia and Alzheimer's disease. When we learn of the Alzheimer's and dimentia diagnosis, we accepted that my mom would change but we would be able to help her and get through it together. The devastating news of the cancer was a whole new game. The doctor who discovered it came to us and explained that with her multiple health issues, her pacemaker, and her new mental disease she was just not a candidate for aggressive cancer therapy. He basically stated that any kind of treatment or surgery would be more cruel then helpful to her. The potential time frame we were given was 6 months or less.
My mom has been the families rock, the strongest woman I have ever known. She has been through a lot in her life and always kept her faith in God and her love of her family in her heart. She is warm, loving, peaceful, sweet and the kindest person I know. With all that in mind we couldn't bear the thought of her going through any more pain. We have decided that for the time she has left we would help to keep her comfortable. She is currently in Calvary hospice in the Bronx, while they help her in her last time on earth.
I'm writing all this because we know the outcome of this situation and unfortunately my family was not prepared properly for it. I'm asking for some donations to go towards the future funeral we will have to plan. I write this with tears streaming down my face and I can still barely comprehend that this is happening. Like I said before I am not someone who asks for help but we need it. We need to be able to lay this wonderful woman to rest properly. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help.
