Mulugheta Tzeggai is a family man and a grandfather of two. He grew up in Edaga Hamus, is a man of strong faith, and a believer and hard worker.
To his friends, who call him "Muller", he is known as a generous friend and a person who has always been ready to help many people in need. Others add that he is an avid gardener.
Mulugheta worked in Africa, in the Middle East, and in his home city, Asmara, where he still lives.
During his stay in the Middle East he was experiencing eye pain and consulted specialists and followed the prescribed treatment.
He returned to Eritrea and was working until he was forced to stop due to terrible eye pain. He has now lost sight in one eye and is in poor health. This has heavily affected his spirit but not his faith. He believes he will be cured with the help of God!
The diagnosis, made in Asmara, revealed that he is suffering from a single aneurysm, located deep in the brain. The same diagnosis was recently confirmed in Addis Ababa.
Whilst the strongest symptom at this moment is loss of eye-sight, Mulugheta needs urgent treatment for a potentially fatal aneurysm which has been left untreated for too long. He is in serious danger if he does not get help soon, and we are deeply worried for him.
The specialized surgery and technology required to treat Mulugheta do not exist at this time in Asmara and in other nearby countries.
Mulugheta now has the possibility to have the surgery performed in Germany. This surgery is urgently required, and we must think in terms of days rather than months, to raise the total required amount. Preliminary estimate for the treatment and related costs is around $67,000. CAD ($50,000. USD)
We need help to make this surgery possible for Mulugheta. We are both hopeful and confident that his friends, acquaintances , as well as generous people everywhere will contribute whatever they can to help him recover his sight and regain his normal life.
