Some of you may be familiar with Matt Peterson as he is not only a fellow car enthusiast but he’s a friend to many. Matt was recently married to the woman he calls the love of his life. Around the same time they planned their wedding Matt had also planned to have the motor in his 370Z built. Unfortunately, weeks before the wedding Matt received the unfortunate news that he had been diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Since then, Matt has undergone regular chemotherapy treatments and just recently even lost his head of hair. Because of this awful news, Matt has been forced to rethink his plans. While he was still able to marry the woman he loves, Matt has struggled with other goals in his life.
Before I continue, let me express that Matt invited the entire Nissan and Infiniti community in Arizona to his wedding so they could all rev their engines as he took the next steps in his life with his beautiful new wife, Cassy. That’s right, Matt is so passionate about his Z he wanted a hundred VQ motors to rev him, and his new bride, off into the distance.
Prior to the wedding Matt was forced to make decisions regarding his engine build. Many things he planned to have done were not able to be completed. Shift Tech Performance did all they could to build Matt the best engine possible but Matt had to make sacrifices in certain areas.
Flash forward to today (only a month or two later) Matt is now considering selling his Z. Between not completing the build as he envisioned and medical costs it makes sense to him that he do so. (Despite how much he loves the car!)
We have decided that we don’t want this to happen.
Let me reiterate, All of AZVQ was invited to his wedding so that he could hear you rev your VQ’s.
This is a passionate man. As a community, let’s help him keep something he is passionate about in his life.
The Goal:
Provide Matt with the 370Z of his dreams and help him keep the car while he continues to support his medical expenses through his battle with Cancer.
We have started this GoFundMe so people can donate to the parts for the build and medical expenses for Matt.
ALL funds received will either go directly to Matt for expenses or to Shift Tech Performance (Via Matt) for onlt the parts specifically used in this engine build.
