THE DEBILITATING PROBLEM (and killer which gives little warning)
In our ongoing COVID pandemic, 20% of the population develop severe—initially silent—hypoxia (low oxygen in the body) that is associated with crippling multi-organ damage. Sixty-six million Americans are at risk of the resultant debilitation. There is the likelihood that the highly mutation-prone SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, like the perennial flu virus, may be with us long term, requiring annual vaccinations.
CHALLENGES IN THE TREATMENT FOR HYPOXIA
Because the hypoxia is initially not obvious as it progressively damages the lungs and the rest of our body, by the time patients feel sick enough to go to the hospital, their lungs are already substantially damaged (boggy and tattered, like an old waterlogged sponge); too damaged to enable adequate oxygen exchange. Such lungs are too frail to withstand the repeated trauma from forced ventilation and give out, so most patients on ventilators die. HealO Medical has engineered a highly effective oxygenating system named SentriO Oxy™. It enables high-oxygen treatment early on, at home, immediately upon diagnosis of COVID with an oxygen saturation of 94% or lower. Special capabilities and advantages include:
1. Delivers ultra-high oxygen concentration deep into the lungs (comparable to a ventilator) via a specially engineered combination of valves. If and when oxygen supply is short or limited, a sequential opening of certain valves deliver O2 preferentially into the lungs and then fill the anatomical dead space with room air where no oxygen exchange takes place. The patient is breathing spontaneously (for herself/ himself) and in the comfort of home or a regular hospital bed.

This appeal aims to get a new oxygenating mask system that I’ve invented (named SentriO Oxy™) to as many hypoxic (meaning poorly oxygenated) COVID patients as possible. It’d enable them to:
1) avoid hospitalization
2) safely recover at home, and
3) reduce their risk of severe multi-organ damage from Chronic
COVID Syndrome (CSS) also known as “long haul COVID”.
At only $190, the daily cost of using SentriO Oxy at home is less than 5% of the $3,900 average daily cost of hospitalization in the U.S. For those lucky enough to recover from hospitalization, 76% still suffer from symptoms such as fatigue and weakness that constitute “Long COVID”, or Chronic COVID Syndrome.
