Save Leane's Heart

Leane Ricci Jania Carbonell was born on August 31, 2016 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She was diagnosed at birth with Trisomy 13 (Patau Syndrome) with complex congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension.
Leane has been fighting for her life since she was brought into this world. Her struggle has been an inspiration to all of us. The Doctors who cared for her during the first few months were concerned that her life will not last that long… a few months they say. But here we are November of 2017 and after 14 months she has not given up. That if it were meant to be she would have left us already, I can see in her smile that she will be strong in time, just give her the passage to breath then she will be ok.
Her father, my brother Joel, texted us at one point “I think I’m almost ready to give up, I feel so sorry for her whenever she can’t breathe and the oxygen level needed to be raised higher. Her color darkens, it happens so often that all I can do is cry. But she is holding on so I will be there with her no matter what. Even if they say nothing will save her”.
Her parents, Lav and Joel together with their first child B2 have been praying for her dear life and started an extensive research on how they will help Leane or if there are any other alternatives to the treatments and prognosis that the doctors gave them. They tried to reach out to other counties, other hospitals and other doctors. Then one day, a letter came from one of the hospitals that there is hope, there will be hope, just transport her there and they might be able to give Leane what she needs. The only thing is that it will cost an arm and a leg including all of our family’s savings, extended family’s funds and friend’s generous donations. Even begging for mercy was not a hindrance just to save this little life. The walls of shyness to seek for help had come down tenfold for the entire family not only financially and more so too with prayers, there will be no barriers on how we will save Leane. Our family and friends all over the world (Japan, Canada, UK, UAE, Philippines, Australia and many more) are working hard to raise funds to have this upcoming operation be a completion and a success.
Joel states that:
Leane will need to undergo total corrective heart surgery (open heart) in 4 months. Her first surgery last June 28 was only a palliative treatment to protect her lungs from irreversible damage. Hospitals in U.A.E still refused to do the procedure so we are planning to take her to US, Canada or back to Thailand. Its very hard for us now to make it possible so we will do a garage sale end of this month. If you have any used clothings, any items to donate please PM me so I can collect
We all know that at the end of the day helping gives us that satisfaction in our hearts. We also know that all we have to do, is ask, be optimists and always hope for the best. These are the words that we are holding on to for Leane’s life. God Bless her heart!
