It forms a key element of Epsom Downs and the setting to our historic racecourse. These are some of the reasons why it is proposed to remain as Green Belt in the new draft Local Plan.

<div>Housing on this prominent field would have an enormously harmful impact on our attractive open countryside. It would also fail to connect with and integrate with the existing village with its separate road access arrangement, lack of adequate footpath connections and would add to the existing severe pressure on services and infrastructure, especially from increased traffic and congestion.

<div>Woodcote (Epsom) Residents’ Society has established an Action Group with Langley Vale residents to campaign against the proposal. We are urgently raising funds to pay for our campaign. This will include costs of publicity material, village surveys, professional consultancy support covering planning, transport, environmental and legal matters to include in our formal objection to the planning application and any possible subsequent planning appeal.
