Save Lake Tana Together

Since 2011, water hyacinth has invaded Lake Tana. The whole lake is 385km, and currently this invasive weed has taken up 190km, with a minimum width of 100m. Not only is water hyacinth killing the aquatic life, but it is also has negatively impacted the fishing industry that the local surrounding communities rely on. We are currently raising funds for the labor costs and the chemical, biological, and mechanical control that will be used to eradicate water hyacinth from Lake Tana!
