KOGA: IMHA Treatment at UC DAVIS

UPDATE as of 12/6/2022: As of now, he is receiving plasma treatment (TPE) at UC Davis Vet Med School in Davis, CA. He was declining so fast , they opted for TPE as his body was destroying the blood transfusions.

After his 2nd TPE treatment, Koga is showing signs of improvements. He is eating for the first time in over a week of being diagnosed and actually trotting around and wagging his tail. The TPE treatment is working. They say he should be discharged by the end of the week, if he continues to show signs of stability and no relapse.

His time and care here is expensive, as he stayed in the ICU for 4 days ($1136/day) not including the blood transfusions and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) treatment. 

It would help us so much. My husband and I maxed out our Care Credit and pulled money from savings to pay his vet bill.

Please help!!!

My name is Karine. It's very difficult for me to ask for financial assistance but I need it to save my dog urgently!

My dog, Koga was recently diagnosed this past Sunday, 11/27/2022 with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). IMHA are autoimmune diseases, where the patient's immune system is attacking his red blood cells (IMHA). The disease happened suddenly without warning. 

One day he is a happy playful dog and the next day, he collapses suddenly without any indication of illness prior.

He is only 8 years old and has been with me since he was a puppy. He is my heart dog and follows me everywhere. He loves me with all his heart, getting sad and depressed when I am away from him. And I love him with every fiber of my being. He is my everything. He has imprinted on me and I with him. I pray and hope we can reach more milestones in this life together.

I cannot live near DAVIS, CA and know that Koga might have a chance to being saved here and not do anything about it. I'm willing to give him my all.

Please donate , if you can. We switched him from Insight Veterinary Wellness ER that diagnosed him and also recommneded UC Davis for continued treatment. The time at both clinics have exhausted us emotionally but also financially. 

Please, if you can, donate to his Vet Bill at UC DAVIS Vet. The estimated amount of cost for his time and treatment there is $22k+. But we are only asking to help us with $10k.

I understand its the holidays season and since Covid, its not been easy for everyone, but if you can donate please do. I would be eternally grateful.

I've never imagined having a dog as amazing as Koga. I can work the rest of my life for money, but I will never have another Koga in my life.
