Save Khaled's Family: Urgent Relief Needed

Hi! My name is Tara and I live in Colorado, USA. I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Khaled Abu Khater, who I have been in frequent contact with over the last year. Khaled’s story is below in his own words:

I am Khaled from Gaza. I was studying to be a nurse before the war. I lost my dream, our home, and everything we had. We are a Palestinian family, an integral part of the victims of the war. We were living in northern Gaza as a result of the barbaric bombing at the beginning of the war. We fled our home, were besieged, and were displaced. I, Khaled, was responsible for my young brothers, and my older brother was responsible for my mother and sister. My father stayed at home and we were separated from each other. I fled with my brothers to the south, and my older brother, mother, and sister remained in the north. I went with my young brothers, Jana, Siraj, and Yousef, to our relatives in the south in the city of Khan Yunis. My father stayed at home in the north, and we lost him. We do not know anything about him. After that, Khan Yunis was evacuated and we were displaced to Rafah. We were displaced and suffered in the camp. After that, Rafah was evacuated. We returned to Khan Yunis.

After a while, they told us to leave, and we lost our relatives’ house completely. There was no place left for me and my brothers. I met a friend in the central region, he sympathized with me and gave me a place with money because I really can't afford to set up a tent. Through the campaign, we will pay him the rent and we will help ourselves to continue. We went out and we lack everything, even the simplest means of life. I hope that you will help us to continue and save my family, especially in the north, they are dying without anyone seeing them, and to help my younger brothers who are innocent and not at fault.

Khaled is an extremely kind and caring person and he is going to make an amazing nurse someday! I hope we can come together to help him and his family survive and rebuild their life after everything they have lost.
